On The Home Front
Next up at Hillgrounds…
Opponent Felixstowe & Walton United
Competition Friendly
Last Time They Were Here… November 2014 saw United come to Hillgrounds in the FA Vase first round. Rovers won 3-1 on that day.
Did you know… The distance that United will travel for this fixture is greater than their longest away trip in their league season.
On this day in Rovers history… This is only the seventh time Rovers have played on the fourth of August, all of which have been friendlies. Most recently in 2012, when Codicote were beaten 2-1 at Hillgrounds.
Felixstowe & Walton United formed in 2000 as a merger. They have, until this season, played their entire post-merger history in the Eastern Counties League, relegated to division one in 2002, but promoted back to the premier in 2006. In each of the last five seasons they have finished in the top five places in the league, but with the expansion of the leagues at steps 3&4, their runners up spot last season was good enough for promotion. They go into the Isthmian League Division One North, seeing them face sides from East Anglia, Essex and East London.
Reduced entry prices apply to this game, as well as all other home friendly games in Rovers schedule.
