Did you know… The earliest settlements in the Luton area were at Round Green and Mixes Hill, where Paleolithic encampments (about 250,000 years old) have been found.
Settlements re-appeared after the ice had re-treated in the Mesolithic period around 8000 BC. Traces of these settlements have been found in the Leagrave area of the modern town.
Remains from the Neolithic period (4500–2500 BC in this area) are much more common. A particular concentration of Neolithic burials occurs at Galley Hill. The most prominent Neolithic structure is Waulud's Bank – a henge dating from around 3000 BC. From the Neolithic on-wards, the area seems to have been populated, but without any single large settlement.

On this day in Rovers history… In 1909 Rovers ran riot over Hitchin Town, winning 8-0
In 1976 there was a 3-0 away win at Holbeach United
Most recently, in 2010, Rovers won 2-1 away at Shefford Town & Campton in the Beds. Senior Trophy

Luton are the current holders of this competition after winning a sensational final last season against Biggleswade Town by 4-3. It was the runners up that had put Kempston out of the competition in the first round.

Rovers got to the semi-final in 2016-17, without actually scoring a goal. In the first round and the quarter final, Rovers relied on penalties after goal-less draws.

Luton have used this competition in recent seasons as a proving ground for their younger players, fringe players and senior figures needing some game time.

Rovers last success in the competition came back in 1992, when a single goal from Darren King saw off Totternhoe at Roker Park, the home of Stotfold. It was Kempston’s fourth time lifting the trophy.
