Kempston were looking to extend their unbeaten league run at Hillgrounds as they entertained FC Romania.
The game had a slow start, and was halted for close to ten minutes as Rovers midfielders Dummett and Wielblad clashed heads in the midfield, resulting in Dahie coming on for Wielblad and Dummett looking like a knock off version of Terry Butcher. The pair later made the short visit to Bedford Hospital to be assessed properly.
Dahie's first touch could've and probably should've been the opener, Ben Stevens' cross finding him but it was diverted wide from close range.
Baker and Stevens were looking to add to their 6 goals each this season, and without Dixon-Hodge pulling off a string of excellent saves they would've moved up, the best a double save ten minutes shy of the half time whistle.
The deadlock was broken a minute into the second half, Stratton setting Baker through on the right and the winger finished at the near post to put the Walnuts in front.
To their credit, FC Romania responded well and were given the chance to equalise 10 minutes later, Simpson mis-timing a challenge on Adetiba; May then sent Rose the wrong way to level the scores.
Rovers then re-took the lead on 66 minutes, Ben Stevens firing in an excellent free kick into the top corner after Stratton was fouled on the edge of the box.
A solid defensive display from Rovers kept FC out, and secured another three points with the game definitely being the last to pop up as full time on Soccer Saturday. Next up is a tough fixture against Kidlington this Tuesday, 19:45KO.
