Dunstable Town gained promotion to the Southern League in 2014, going through the entire Spartan South Midlands League season unbeaten. They only briefly stayed in division one, winning back to back promotions (much to the chagrin of Kettering Town, ask some of the Town fans about that one). Town spent four seasons in the Premier Division of the Southern League, a twelfth place was the best that they could manage in that time. They finished bottom of the league last season, despite taking the relegation fight to the very last game of the campaign. Much was made of the money problems that the club had last season, very publicly admitting that they were not paying players at all in a bid to keep the club going.
