Rovers had squeezed in four training sessions since their last game against Welwyn Garden City, and it paid off massively as their first league win moved Rovers up to 13th.
Scott Dash named three debutants in the starting line up, Will Peck, Miguel Lopes Dematos and Christopher Manangu making their first start in red and white.
On the 20 minute mark, Rovers opened the scoring. Dematos heavily involved with a header from a corner, before it fell to Dan Naylor on the volley whose shot was too powerful for the Wantage 'keeper to stop from going over the line.
Rovers had the chance to extend their lead early into the second half. Jordan Slama on his return to The Walnuts went on an excellent run down the right wing before being clipped inside the area. The Rovers substitute took the penalty himself, but his 'dink' down the middle was saved by the feet of the Wantage keeper.
Rovers eventually did double their lead. A corner was floated in an missed everyone across the 6 yard box, however turned to Christopher Manangu at the back post who, on the half turn, drilled the ball with his left foot over the line before Wantage could scramble it away.
Rovers are back in action on Monday where St Neots Town travel down the A421 to Hillgrounds.
