A Bedfordshire derby started the new year at Hillgrounds, Kempston in action for the first time in a fortnight, Biggleswade looking to build on their impressive draw with Bedford last week.
The hosts opened the scoring a mid-way through the first half, good work from Bakogeorge on the right who squared to Aderoju to finish, a debut goal for the striker, formerly of Kempston Rovers Colts.
Biggleswade knocked on the door at the end of the first period, but a combination of saves and blocks gave Rovers the lead at the break.
Into the second half and Biggleswade kept their pressure up, Knox continuing to keep Rovers in front, but their resistance was broken in the 71st minute. Alex Marsh with a simple tap in from a yard out after a deflected shot from Lawrie, Knox got a hand but it fell to the feet of the Biggleswade midfielder.
The woodwork was rattled another two times, but Rovers held on, even after having Jack Quigley sent off for dissent late on. Neither side will be happy with a point, Kempston feeling they could’ve pushed on in the first half, and Biggleswade with a number of missed opportunities.
