Rovers gained a league double over Hertford Town following a 2-1 win on Saturday.
Rovers were forced into four changes, Wielblad, Charles, Drakulic and Bakogeorge starting as the front four in place of DeMatos, Hayford, Aderoju and Gibson.
Hertford had the majority of the chances in the first half hour, Knox with a couple of comfortable saves from long range, as well as the crossbar coming to Rovers' rescue. Wielblad with Rovers' best chance, dragging a shot just wide of the far post.
However it was Kempston who opened the scoring. Laws who had been moved to left-back , covering for the missing DeMatos found space down the flank and squared a low cross into the box, Charles couldn't make contact but the ball found its way to Drakulic at the back post who slotted into a empty net to open his Kempston account.
Into the second half and Rovers had chances to extend their lead early on, Drakulic found himself through on goal however the Hertford 'keeper saved the ball at the winger's feet. Wielblad also had another low shot which this time the 'keeper was again equal to.
Rovers were made to pay for the missed opportunities as the hosts grew into the game, Knox's feet and the post coming to the rescue in quick succession. The equaliser came soon after, Steele was caught in possession as he looked to clear and Ogbonna found the corner to level the scores.
The goals did not demoralise Kempston as just five minutes after Drakulic found space on the counter as the hosts were looking to pile on the pressure. The goal scorer found Charles on the left before the winger travelled and fired in a rocket (this is becoming quite the saying with his goals) into the far corner, his ninth of the season.
Rovers withstood late pressure to hang on to an important three points and extend the unbeaten run to 3. Next up is a midweek trip to St Neots this Tuesday.
