Little was riding on this fixture in Bedfordshire as Waltham Abbey were looking for a top half finish, but Rovers were stuck in 18th position. There were three changes made to the starting XI for this fixture, Johnson, Debayo and Dougan missing out with Wielblad, McShane and Baker coming in.
The visitors took the lead early on as Domafriyie's low shot found the bottom corner after good work out wide.
There was controversy soon after as Aitken in the Abbott's net caught Charles outside of the box after the Rovers striker had tried to lob the stopper, resulting in a yellow for the goalkeeper, however arguably lucky not to receive a red.
Baker levelled just before the break as he beat the offside trap from a lovely ball from Ronayne, and his lob eventually bounced over the line, the winger's first goal this season following a lengthy injury.
Into the second half and it was an even affair, chances for Charles and Baker were missed from the Walnuts, and it proved costly as Goatherd-Braithwaite's long-range effort found the far corner with 15 minutes to go as he cut in from the left wing.
Rovers competed very well and will feel they should have gained at least a point, however quality at both ends of the pitch proved costly. Abbey finish the season in a healthy 11th, whereas Rovers are in relegation playoff action next week where their fate in Step 4 hangs by a knife edge.
