Chalfont have had a slightly difficult start to the season in the new Isthmian South Central League, losing their opening two games against Chipstead and Hertford. A single goal victory against London Lions, two leagues lower, in the FA Cup was followed by a goalless game at Marlow. Their first league win of the season came at the expense of Egham Town, who used the defeat as an excuse to part with their manager – incidentally his first game in charge was against Kempston back in March. Chalfont do have a League Cup tie against Ware on Tuesday.
Kempston are currently on a run of three straight wins with clean sheets to go with them. Hopefully, this game will extend that sequence.
