Opponent Chalfont St. Peter
Competition FA Cup Q1 replay
Last Time They Were Here… Chalfont stole a 1-0 win during Rovers difficult Autumn last season
Did you know… Since the building of Gerrards Cross railway sta-tion in the late 19th century, the population of Chalfont St Peter has risen dramatically. From 1801 to 1901, the populations of the village only saw a 700-person rise – giving a population of 1700. But from 1901 to the present, it has be-come one of the largest villages in the United Kingdom, with nearly 13,000 inhabitants.
On this day in Rovers history… Rovers have two cup wins on this date in the 1990s, first in 1991 away at Bugbrooke St Michael by 5-1 and then again in 1996 at home to Huntingdon Town by 1-0. Both games were in the UCL League Cup
This replay marks the third successive occasion that Chalfont St. Peter have visited Kempston for a midweek clash. Each side claiming one victory, each time by one goal to nil. The Rovers win coming in 2016-17 with Danny Watson the scorer and then in 2017-18 Chalfont won with Victor Osubu getting the goal.
This fixture will require extra time and possibly penalties if it is level at ninety minutes. Rovers last penalty shoot-out resulted in victory, beating Arlesley in the quarter final of the Beds. Senior Cup in 2017.
