This Saturday, Rovers face Southern League Premier side Kings Lynn Town in the first round of the Southern League Cup. This tie has been brought forward four days.
We have met Kings Lynn three times before, all in the 2011-12 season. Rovers fans will want to look away now as all three games ended in defeat without scoring a goal. 0-1 at home in the league, 0-2 away from home and 0-3 in the UCL League cup away from home.
Since then, Kings Lynn have risen to the Southern League Premier Division and have begun the season well. They currently sit second with 22 points from their 9 games. They also have the second highest average crowds so far in the division with over 800 – Hereford being the only side with bigger attendances.
Rovers history in this competition is slightly limited, as the club only began competing in it last season. A much changed side was fielded at Bedford Town and despite playing the better football on the night, came away empty handed.
Rovers league form has them in eighth place in the table, with 13 points from seven games. Tuesday saw Rovers make it back to back victories, rolling over Aylesbury United after coming from behind to take the points at Marlow.
This is the second of four successive home games for Rovers.
