This Tuesday we clash again with Newport Pagnell Town for the crucial cup replay. Kempston led two nil and three two in the original tie but couldn’t kill the game off. Despite the setback of Saturday’s drama, Rovers are handed a massive boost ahead of the replay in the Grant Fryer will be back from suspension following his dismissal at Moneyfields to add his qualities to the defence.
Saturday saw Rovers debuts for Kyal McNulty and the impressive David Murphy, both will be looking to keep their places in the side. Alex Stoyles, having come off the bench at Newport will be looking to get over the niggling knock he took during the game with AFC Dunstable. Seb Simpson remains suspended.
Tuesday will see a return to Hillgrounds for three ex-Rovers players. Taylor Orosz and George Shrieves played for the Walnut Boys in 2015. Newport Pagnell Town also have Josh Winters on their books, Winters played an integral part in Rovers double winning season in 2015-16 and will be sure to have a warm welcome.
The tie must be played to a conclusion on the night, extra time and penalties will be used if necessary. It will be the first opportunity for Rovers fans to see the new ‘ABBA’ penalty shoot-out system in action. The winners will face Wisbech Town or Spalding in Round 1 after they drew 2-2 on Saturday.
Rovers fans are reminded that Supporters Club discount entry does not apply to this fixture. Entry is adults £9, concessions £5 and kids for a quid.
