Royston have made the second round for the second successive season. In the first round they comfortably dispatched Barton Rovers with a resounding 3-0 away win. Rovers will take heart that despite their all-conquering league form last season, they went out of this competition at home to our good friends Chalfont St. Peter. So far this season, (Royston’s first at Southern Premier Level) the Crows find themselves in thirteenth place with 23 points from their fourteen games.

Kempston have reached this stage of the competition for the first time ever after victory in the previous round over King’s Lynn Town. Jake Newman may have grabbed the headlines in that game with a hat-trick, however Nathan Tshikuna’s contribution shouldn’t be forgotten as he assisted all three goals. Rovers had made five changes for the previous round, although Adam Moussi has since left the club. We will not need prompting to remember the last time we visited Garden Walk; two goals down in stoppage time against a side were uncorking the promotion champagne and came away with a spectacular point. Luke Heneghan will be looking to recover from the knock he suffered at Northwood, Sam Macrae made his first appearance of the season in the same game – keeping one ahead of Martin Conway in the most appearances for Rovers out of the current squad. Fan favourite Alex Stoyles is back in training and will be looking to make his first outing in over two months.

Basic directions;
To get to Royston, head south on the A1 and take the A505 from Baldock. The A505 runs directly to Royston. As you approach Royston there is a roundabout with a McDonalds next to it, take the first exit and carry on along the A505 and turn right at the second roundabout after this which is signed A10. Cross one roundabout and then Garden Walk is the sixth left turning. However, Royston Town advise not to park at the ground or in the surrounding streets.
Royston Town Football Club has very limited parking capacity. Please avoid parking in the neighbouring streets and use the main Town Hall car park, which is only a 3 minute walk away.
For your SatNav here’s the post code for the car park: SG8 7EF (off King James Way).
