The league is on the back-burner as the cup takes centre stage

Non-League obsessives MANarama can’t remember a start to the season like this!

We’re almost a quarter of the way into the BetVictor Southern League Central Division One season and incredibly there are still three sides unbeaten.

Leaders Berkhamsted, Corby Town and Aylesbury United have all yet to taste defeat.

That being said, with Non-League Day taking centre stage this weekend, our teams put their league campaigns on hold for the return of the FA Trophy.

Berkhamsted’s management duo Lee Bircham and Steve Bateman have got them firing in the league, but can they continue their fine run against Herne Bay?

Fresh from an FA Cup exit, Halesowen get an immediate crack at cup redemption with a trip to Gloucestershire to face Evesham United.

Coleshill hit Wantage for six last time out and will be have the bit between their teeth as they head to Chasetown while AFC Dunstable are on the road to Hanwell.

And while Corby are unbeaten in the league, they actually head to Histon on the back of two consecutive cup defeats – can they make it third time lucky?

Aylesbury are the other side from division yet to lose and having conceded just once all season to boot, Sevenoaks might not enjoy their time at the Meadow.

Elsewhere, Barton Rovers welcome Chichester while a tie with high-fliers Ilkeston Town awaits Bedworth United.

Wantage Town will be hoping for some cup magic. The Alfredians have lost all nine of their league games so far, conceding 43 goals in the process – will a trip to Melksham Town herald a new dawn?

Here’s hoping a cocktail of Non-League Day and cup magic can get the juices flowing!

While we have got you, why not do something really special this weekend….
