The term 'must win' could not be more relevant to The Walnuts penultimate away fixture of the season, making the 90 minute journey over to Wantage. Rovers head in to the game four points off Kidlington and Hertford, with all three teams looking to avoid the dreaded playoff. Kidlington host St Neots, whereas Hertford host Welwyn Garden City.
Rovers will be hoping that the three players forced off in last week's defeat to Aylesbury Utd will be in contention for this fixture, Cooper and McShane at the break, and Stratton later on. Harvey Laws will be hoping to return from his illness. Massingham remains the only player out for the remainder of the season.
The return fixture back in August resulted in a 2-0 win for Rovers, Naylor and Manangu with the goals that day, just five of the sixteen players in the squad that day are still with The Walnuts. Wantage have already been relegated from the division following their defeat to Bedford Town a fortnight ago, ending their somewhat three year stay in the division. Rovers have already travelled to Alfredian Park this season in League Cup action, the hosts winning 2-1 on this occasion, Manangu grabbing the goal for Rovers once again.
The journey is Rovers' longest of the season, with the journey being around 1hr30 by car from Hillgrounds. The cross country route via Buckingham, Bicester and Oxford will prove the best bet, however if you're feeling scenic the alternative is via Aylesbury and Thame, although this route may bring back bad memories of recent performances. By train is very difficult, a train into London and getting over to Paddington is the first part, then a train to Didcot and a bus from there will get you to Alfredian Park.
