In a game which had three thirty minute periods, Rovers went two goals up before the hosts made it level, but the visitors snatched it late on with the last kick of the game.
Rovers were forced into an early change as Dave King was forced off through injury, replaced by Alfie Powell. Five minutes later, Rovers opened the scoring through Josh Crawley after great wing play from Nathan Tshikuna.
Ten minutes later, The Walnuts doubled their lead as Luke Heneghan struck a wonderful effort into the top corner from 25 yards.
A minute before the first interval, Leighton pulled one back after an attempted cross got caught in the wind and ended up in the far corner.
The comeback was complete midway through the second third as an effort from 18 yards went in via the woodwork.
A number of substitutions were made for both teams, with a number of trialists entering the frame for Rovers; and it was one of the trialists who won it for the visitors as he rounded the keeper to slot home in added time.
Our next match is this Tuesday where we host AFC Rushden & Diamonds at Hillgrounds, 19:45KO.
