After the break, Rovers rallied. A corner wasn’t dealt with properly and Ben Acquaye was able to curl home from the edge of the box. After much industrious play, Rovers levelled the score with five minutes to go. Tshikuna sweeping home from the edge of the box after superb work from Trialist T in the build up.
In the second half, Rovers gave first senior run outs for three members of last season’s title winning Under 18 side, Dom Palmieri, Simeon Horne and Angus McGuiness. All three showed just why the youth team was so successful last season. Each was roundly applauded from the field by fans, delighted to see the youngsters get a chance.
