AFC Rushden & Diamonds visited Hillgrounds in what is becoming a regular pre-season fixture.
Rovers handed starts to eight players who have featured in previous seasons, as well as three trialists. The first half was much quieter than Saturday, with just the one goal for the visitors on the half hour mark, a low driven effort from 15 yards finding the far corner.
The second half started with two quick-fire goals, first for Diamonds and then Chief Boateng reducing the deficit back to one almost instantly.
As the 65 minute mark approached, Diamonds were ruthless in their finishing, scoring another five goals to complete the scoring.
Rovers next host Eynesbury Rovers this Saturday in their final Harry Robinson Trophy group game.
