A first time in the dugout for Chris Nunn and his management team was upon us, as AFC Rushden & Diamonds headed to Hillgrounds to open pre-season.
The first half ended with the visitors 3-0 up, the three goals in the last 15 minutes of the half. Rovers disappointed they didn't take any of their opportunities which they created.
As with any pre-season fixture, a host of changes followed for both teams, with Chris Nunn including three players from Kempston Rovers Academy in these.
Trialist made in 3-1 10 minutes into the second half, an excellent effort from 30 yards. On 75 minutes Colts progressor Wielblad halved the deficit. With two minutes to go the come back was complete, Williams from KRFC Academy striking low and beating the Diamonds 'keeper.
A crowd of 248 saw the opener at Hillgrounds, with a reminder that there is a double header next week as KRFC Reserves host Old Bradwell Utd at midday before the first team host Hendon. £5 entry for adults and £1 for children will cover you for both games.
