Rovers returned to Hillgrounds for this first time since November to face Biggleswade Town for both teams' first fixture of 2023.
There were two changes for the Walnuts from the draw on Boxing Day with Barton Rovers, Lee Cooksey returning to the team as captain in place of Harry Riley, as well as Magloire Muyembe starting in place of Harvey Williams who had a place on the bench.
Rovers had the much better of the first 45, Ben Stevens who was playing out wide was fed a ball on the left but his drilled effort just beat the far post.
Just 10 minutes later and Rovers had a better chance, Dahie as always doing well in the air, where his flick on found Hatch through on goal, as he headed it past the onrushing goalkeeper he went down on the edge of the box. Initially it looked like a slip, but Hatch seemed to have been caught; nothing was given from the man in the middle.
Dahie was then the next player with Rovers' best opportunity, getting a near post flick to a Stevens corner but his effort caught the near post and so nearly bounced in off the goalkeeper, but it was scrambled away.
Into first half stoppage time and Rovers took the lead. A cross field ball from Stevens found Baker on the right, after some link up with Kerins the winger but a ball into the box where Hatch headed an effort on target, the goalkeeper's rebound fell perfectly to Stevens to pass into an empty net.
The second half saw a response from the visitors, having a lot more of the ball with Rovers sitting deep and looking to counter. On the hour mark the crossbar was struck from a free kick, with Rovers managing to deal with the resulting danger.
George Rose was called into action late on, a point blank save in stoppage time keeping Rovers in the lead.
Rovers wrapped it up four minutes into six minutes of time added on, Bakogeorge sending the ball to Baker where the winger was supported by Aderoju, Rovers' top scorer squared the ball to the substitute where he calmly slotted into the net to wrap up the win.
Rovers move above their opponents up to 11th, next up is a trip to Highworth on Saturday.
