Football returned to Hillgrounds as AFC Dunstable made the short trip up the M1 to face fellow Bedfordshire outfit, Kempston Rovers.
It took just the 17 minutes for the visitors to open the scoring, a ball in from the left found McClelland who rose highest to head in from two yards out.
Rovers had a good opportunity to level shortly after, Rose's goal kick found the head of Hatch whose flick found Wielblad but his drilled effort was well saved by Head in the OD's goal.
In first half stoppage time the lead was doubled, which was as much of a carbon copy as you're ever going to get. This time a corner from the left once again found McClelland to head in from two yards once again.
Both teams made changes in the second half, including a debut for Academy player Israel Ajana in place of Taylor Bakogeorge, Pemi Aderoju also featured in place of James Hatch for the last ten minutes.
The scoring was eventually wrapped up in second half stoppage time, and once again it was McClelland who got his head to the ball in. This time it was a glancing front post header, which wrapped up a hat-trick for the centre back.
AFC strengthen their chances of finishing in the playoffs, whereas Rovers stay mid-table. Rovers next head to Cheshunt to face FC Romania on Sunday 5th February, 15:00ko.
