A Bedfordshire derby at Hillgrounds awaited as one of the few games in the division went ahead following a morning pitch inspection. The two sides drew 2-2 with each other in the league earlier on in the season, but FC did defeat Rovers 4-0 a month ago in the semi final of the Beds Senior Trophy.
Five minutes in Lorrell Smith had a decent opening after a flick on, however his lobbed effort couldn't find the target. Rovers kept the early pressure on, forcing a number of corners but the visitors defended them well.
Half way through the first period the visitors took the lead, the ball falling to Alex Marsh who rounded Rose in the Kempston net to slot home.
The goal sparked FC in to life, Rose did excellently to deny Alex Marsh when through on goal, then denying Coles' deflected effort a few minutes later.
On 36 minutes the lead was doubled, brother Laurie Marsh this time scoring in off the post after a cross from the right.
The Walnuts started the second half well and halved the deficit on 50 minutes as Lorrell Smith opened his account for Rovers, slotting home through on goal after a ball through from Dummett.
The game was very open for the remainder of the game, both sides feeling they could've added to their tally. Hemlin returned to action after a month off through injury, as well as Dahie and Aderoju.
It finished at 1-2, the visitors looking ever more likely to secure a playoff spot whereas Rovers will be looking to gain maximum points over the Easter weekend as a trip to Thame and a home match v Barton await.
