In front of a crowd of 125, the visitors made an excellent start and opened the scoring on two minutes. A front post header from a corner fell to Jake Lee at the back post to volley into the net from close range.

On 6 minutes the Centurions could have doubled their lead from the spot, but Jake Lee sent his shot wide following Jake Kerins being adjudged to have handballed whilst blocking a shot.

Rovers gradually got a foothold in the game, Aderoju with a cross-shot being well saved before Rose made a good save with his feet at the other end.

Just past the half hour mark it was two, Adulai Sambu made a great run through the middle and slotted past Rose in the Kempston net after a neat flick on.

Ben Stevens had the best chance of the half for Rovers just before the break, good work from Ajana to feed Wielblad who dummied the ball which fell to Stevens, unfortunately his shot was well saved.

Harvey Williams was introduced for fellow Academy graduate Isreal Ajana, and Williams almost scored with his first involvement but his low effort was blocked on the line. Rovers were knocking on the door and Hemlin had an excellent volleyed effort which just evaded the crossbar.

The scoring was wrapped up on 81 minutes as Joseph Shepherd latched onto a block 20 yards out, he drilled a powerful shot into the bottom right corner.

Kempston finish just outside the relegation playoffs, whereas Cirencester finish four points outside the playoffs. Another season in Step 4 awaits both teams in 2023/24. Thank you to everyone for their support throughout the season.
