Our first league away game of the season sees us make the short trip along the A421 and A603 to face Biggleswade FC. A rare Wednesday fixture for the Walnuts which would usually be a Tuesday, however due to FC's groundshare with Bedford Town, the game has been put back a day due to the Eagles facing Barton on Tuesday.
The two sides face each other twice this week, as Rovers' recent FA Cup win over Harleston Town meant a clash between the two sides in the Preliminary Round at Hillgrounds on Saturday.
Biggleswade had their best ever campaign last season, finishing in the playoffs but they were defeated by losing finalists Ware in the semi final. A draw early last season at The Eyrie which ended 2-2 was an impressive result for Rovers, but a 4-0 defeat in the Beds FA Senior Cup was followed by a close 1-0 defeat in early April in the league.
FC started their league season with a 5-2 win away to Welwyn Garden City, a brace from George Bailey and Thomas Coles also included a goal from former Walnut Pemi Aderoju. Two other former Walnuts first team players, Charlie Hayford and Daniel Akubuine were also in the matchday squad.
Rovers will be looking to bounce back from Saturday's defeat to Biggleswade Town. After a first half missed penalty, the visitors took full advantage by scoring a penalty themselves and two second half goals, Rovers were also reduced to 10 men late on as Melvin Onu was dismissed.
Admission for this fixture is cheaper if purchased in advance, this can be done so here. Safe travels to all Walnuts fans making the trip over, your support is as always very much appreciated.
