It was 16th vs 2nd before the start of play as the high-flying Milers were looking to put pressure on Bedford Town at the top.
Rovers changed their formation, looking to stop the leaking of goals which have happened in the last fortnight, 18 goals conceded in 4 games.
The first half hour was even in terms of chances, however the visitors were having majority of the ball. It was on the half hour mark the deadlock was broken, Walnuts GK Hudson bringing down a North Leigh midfielder, the referee pointed to the spot. Non-league celebrity Jefferson Louis was on spot-kick duties and beat Hudson to put North Leigh in the lead.
Into the second half and Louis had an excellent opportunity to double his and his team’s lead, but his header beat the post.
The miss proved costly as excellent work down the left by Kempston wing-back Miguel Lopes DeMatos beat three men and found Charlie Hayford who drilled into the bottom corner.
It stayed goalless for the rest of the game, although both teams had half opportunities to win it.
