A brace from Wielblad and a winner from Charles give Rovers their second away win in the space of three days.

After a manic first 15 minutes, Rovers dug in and gained a valuable three points which moved them out of the relegation spots on Tuesday night.

Scott Dash made three changes to the XI that beat Hertford on Saturday, DeMatos returning from illness, Cooper coming in for Debayo and Burrows progressing from the reserves following his hat-trick over Irchester at the weekend. Adam Drakulic was originally named in the line up, but was injured in the warm up.

The first opportunity fell to Burrows, finding space on the left however he dragged his shot just wide of the far post. It wasn't to haunt Rovers though, as a few minutes later the right flank was this time utilised, Bakogeorge squeezing a cross in which ended with Wielblad finishing into the bottom corner to open his Rovers account having scored 15 already for the reserves this season after progressing from Colts.

The second came a minute later, the two linking up again but this time a much simpler finish for Wielblad who tucked into an empty net at the back post.

Rovers had the lead clawed back soon after though, a free header from a corner gave the hosts a lifeline in the 14th minute.

The game then settled down, with St Neots having more of possession, however with Rovers' quick front line there were opportunities to counter with players pushing forward for the hosts.

Burrows was forced off through injury late into the first half, pulling his hamstring whilst tracking back. Caleb Steele came on to replace, with Lodovica moving up front and Charles to the wing to accommodate the midfielder.

Rovers then conceded an equaliser on the stroke of half time, a good run down the right was pulled back to the edge of the box where a low strike across Knox found the corner, a very similar goal to Rovers' first.

The second half was more of the same, Rovers not doing any favours with their disciplinary record as Laws, DeMatos and Massingham all were put into the referees note book, however the tempo was dropping and suiting Rovers.

On the hour mark Wielblad was replaced by Dahie in the middle of midfield. The substitute then had a big impact in the winner, chasing a lost cause in the corner and winning a throw in for Rovers. A long throw from DeMatos found the head of Lodovica whose flick on found Charles at the back post to leap brilliantly a direct his header into the corner.

A vital win for Rovers which moves them up to 16th ahead of Kidlington and Hertford. Next up we host AFC Dunstable this Saturday.
