Since re-forming in 2005, Hornchurch have had a fairly successful time of it, with four promotions and just two relegations in that time, the club sit at step 3 of the pyramid, which is one level below where they were when the old club went bust. A quick glance at the club’s Wikipedia page highlights a former player for the Urchins called Ryan Kirby, we don’t think he is any relation to Andy. A slightly more genuine local connection is that Elliot Justham, the former Luton Town back up keeper was once a Hornchurch boy, having spent some of his youth career with the club.
The Urchins quite regularly progress beyond this stage of the cup, meaning this game will be a tough test for Rovers. Walnut Boys fans, however will want to take in the view from the large decking area to watch the game with a drink and from previous experience, the food is quite good.
